What are they for?
Neighbourhood Teams cover every ward in the Borough, and are made up of a combination of dedicated beat officers (Neighbourhood Specialist Officers), Police Community Support Officers, Community Safety Wardens and Community Development Workers. Each ward has at least one of these.
Your team is your local contact in the community. You can talk to them about issues in your area. Each team works to tackle crime and disorder, and reduce fear of crime in their ward. They do this by tackling problems in your neighbourhood, promoting community safety, assisting with environmental improvements, and working with you to develop your community. There is constant dialogue between the team as they share information, findings and feedback from the community.
What can I contact my team about?
You can contact your team about anything to do with community safety. This might include:
- Information about criminal/suspicious behaviour or activity (dial 999 if urgent).
- How to increase your personal or community safety.
- Anti-social behaviour.
- The appearance of your neighbourhood.
- Setting up community groups, Neighbourhood Watch etc.
