East Horsley Youth Club faces an exciting future

East Horsley Youth Club faces an exciting future
4 Aug 2009

A vibrant consultation evening took place recently at East Horsley Youth Club where more than 30 young people got involved in planning the future of their club.

Bruce Paterson, Rural Community Safety Warden Guildford East, said: “The club is a great place for young people to meet and take part in lots of different activities, and lots of events have been planned for the future.”

Young people can enjoy taking part in playing pool, table top football, basketball, indoor hockey, cookery, computer games, learn how to access useful information for school projects and enjoy the snack bar facilities.

The Youth Council who runs the Youth Club is now busy organising and promoting new events. They will shortly be purchasing Apple Macs so that the young people can record and edit their own music and lots more outdoor activities - including the creation of sports teams to play other youth groups
in the area.

There are also plans to run a youth café, recruit a new Youth Worker and work closer with other groups in the area to put on joint events as well as run community based sessions during the day for young parents with toddlers.

The East Horsley Youth Club is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm and if you would like to find out more please ring, Bruce Paterson, Rural Community Safety Warden Guildford East on tel: 07810681636.
