Community Incident Action Group

This is another highly effective way that we deal with anti-social behaviour. The Community Incident Action Group is multi-agency problem-solving group. It addresses any specific community safety concerns caused by problematic individuals, families or locations. Members of the group share information and intelligence, helping to identify and limit the activities of people committing crime and disorder. They deal with things like truancy, anti-social behaviour and prolific offenders.

The group also considers the use of Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) and ABCs but also seeks preventative and long-terms solutions.

Examples of issues dealt with by the CIAG include truancy, anti-social behaviour and prolific offenders who are chronic alcohol and drug abusers. The use of CIAG to tackle anti-social behaviour has meant more effective interventions, and more effective targeting of resources. It also means greater capacity to obtain Anti-Social Behaviour Orders due to our dedicated ASBO Case Builder. All this means an overall reduction of crime and disorder in Guildford Borough.
